I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Colorado. I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas and a Master of Arts degree in Counseling from Colorado Christian University in Loveland, Colorado.
I have over nine years of experience working in the inpatient hospital setting as well as private practice. I enjoy working with adults and adolescents and have worked with a variety of issues such as: anxiety and fears, anger, depression, coping skills, grief & loss, PTSD, self-esteem, suicidal ideation and self harm behaviors, spirituality, and family conflict.
I have learned that what we think, effects how we feel and, in turn, how we carry out our lives. I believe it is important to gain an understanding of the core beliefs that direct our behavior. I think educating clients about their experiences through various activities and resources can be very beneficial. There are many struggles we will face in our life and every client has their own unique story. My hope is to walk with you in your journey of healing and to help you reach a place of hope for the future.
I was born and raised in Texas and I have to say, I do not miss the heat or humidity. I love beautiful Colorado and spending time outdoors with my husband and my son. We have two cats, Gracie and Lucy, who are out other "kids". Some of my favorite past times are drawing, pastels and other forms of creative expression, watching comedies, being in nature, and spending time with loved ones. I love animals of all kinds and hope to provide animal assisted therapy in the future.
