What should I do to before our first appointment?
To make the best use of our time together, please complete the beginning paperwork (under the paperwork tab) ahead of time, and put together a list of any questions you have, so that we make sure to address them during our session.
What happens at our first appointment?
During the first appointment we will have the opportunity to meet each other, gather information, and see if we are a good fit for working together. My goal will be to get to know you, to hear some of your story, to learn what brings you to counseling, and hear about some goals you may have. For adolescent sessions I hope to meet with both the teen and parent(s) or guardian(s) for the initial session to make a plan regarding how to move forward.
What happens at future appointments?
After the first appointment, we will both have a better understanding of what direction to go. We will begin to have more focused conversations specifically addressing those areas of most importance to you. I will tailor my methods to what suits you best.
How often will I need to see you?
The answer is different for every client so we’ll decide together what makes sense for you. We may meet every week, every other week, or once a month. And, we may meet for a few months, a full year, or longer, depending upon your needs.
What is your rate?
If I am in network provider with your insurance, the copay will apply. I am able to offer a reduced rate services on a limited basis for those who qualify.
(The counseling “hour” is 50 minutes of face-to-face time and 10 minutes of note taking and session preparation). Payment by cash, check or credit card is accepted at the beginning of each session.
Do you take Insurance?
I am in network as a ComPsych provider that offers assistance to employee of various places of employment. I am also in network with United Healthcare/Optum, Mutual of Omaha, Mines and Associates and Aetna.
As an out of network provider for PPO plans, I can provide you with appropriate receipts for reimbursement from your insurance carrier. Services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance or employee benefit plan. Please check your out of network coverage by contacting your insurance provider. I am able to assist with this process if needed. If you prefer more privacy, you may choose not to go through your insurance provider.
